Our Mission
Stop elder scams before the money is gone
Every year, organized criminals steal billions from aging parents through phone and messaging scams. By the time families find out, it's too late. KindWatch exists to catch scams in progress — not after the damage is done.
The problem
In 2024, the FBI reported $4.9 billion stolen from adults over 60. That's 147,000 families. The average victim lost $83,000. Some lost everything. And those are just the ones who reported it.
These aren't careless people. They're retired professors, former engineers, grandparents who raised entire families. The scams that target them — pig butchering, tech support fraud, romance scams — are sophisticated, patient, and designed to exploit trust over weeks or months.
Call blocking doesn't work — scammers use messaging apps, not cold calls. Daily check-in apps don't work — your parent will press "I'm okay" while actively being scammed because they believe they're okay. That's the whole problem.
The signals are already there, on your parent's phone: a new contact appearing frequently, longer conversations at odd hours, financial apps opening more often. What's missing is something watching for those patterns — and alerting you before it's too late.
What we're building
KindWatch turns your parent's phone into a scam early-warning system. AI monitors their communications for the patterns that precede fraud — urgency language, social engineering tactics, suspicious contacts, financial pressure — and alerts you while there's still time to intervene.
We're building a future where a scammer can't spend weeks grooming an elderly target without the family knowing. Where the patterns that precede every financial crime are caught by AI that's seen thousands of scam playbooks. Where "I didn't know until it was too late" stops being the default.
The phone your parent already carries should be their first line of defense. Not a surveillance tool — a shield that works quietly, respects their privacy, and only speaks up when something is genuinely wrong.
The roadmap
We're building toward full scam detection in phases — earning trust at each step. Every family that joins accelerates the timeline for everyone.
Get on the phone
Screen activity, motion detection
Passive check-ins and inactivity alerts give families an immediate reason to install. This establishes KindWatch on the device, builds trust through Play Store reviews, and lays the foundation for everything that follows.
Read the signals
Notification listener access
With notification access, KindWatch can see incoming SMS, WhatsApp, email, and banking app alerts — without reading private conversations. AI scans for scam signatures: urgency language, social engineering patterns, suspicious links, and financial pressure tactics.
Detect anomalies
Call log, contacts
Access to call history and contacts lets KindWatch build a baseline of your parent's normal communication patterns. New contacts appearing frequently, unusual call times, sudden spikes in activity — anomalies surface automatically in weekly reports before they become crises.
Warn before it's too late
SMS send, screen overlay
When AI detects a high-confidence scam in progress, KindWatch alerts the guardian immediately and can show a gentle on-screen warning to your parent: "Someone who cares about you flagged this conversation." Scam patterns detected across the network strengthen protection for every family — the more parents join, the harder it gets for scammers to succeed.
Attack the root cause
Phone, microphone
Scammers succeed because lonely people crave connection. KindWatch calls your parent daily — a friendly AI voice that chats about their day, reminds them about medications, and genuinely listens. Every conversation helps KindWatch understand your parent better, making anomaly detection sharper and scam alerts smarter. A parent who feels connected doesn't need a stranger's attention. Prevention at the source.
